The original Heritage school was in service for only a few years.
Despite staying open for only a short time, the school had a very special impact on its students. Paul Bamford and Chris Bartholomew, alumni of Heritage Elementary, organized the reunion to celebrate the school's rich history up until today. It was also a great reason to gather students together and relive fun memories.
Around 20 alumni from various years came to visit. Many of the previous students found that the school, now GLOBE, was very similar to the Heritage school years ago: there was strong community support from parents, staff and stakeholders.
A welcoming committee of GLOBE Ambassadors helped alumni find their way into the school and were happy to answer questions about GLOBE today. These GLOBE Ambassadors were from the inaugural class of Kindergarten immersion from 2013.
Heritage alumni reminisced about the high student achievement that shone through the halls of Heritage and how they recognized this characteristic in the GLOBE ambassadors attending the event. Much like the former Heritage school, at GLOBE, we know the importance of community, high achievement and working together to make our school a success. It was a great day for alumni, students and staff. GO GLOBE!
