Founders Jackie Ubiles and Brandi Kenner collaborated closely in opening and operating the dual-language immersion preschool, Little Linguists International Preschool in East Point. Ubiles and Kenner were amazed at the ease with which their children and other children in the preschool were able learn a second language when given an authentic, pressure-free language learning environment. The women became determined to provide this opportunity for many other children beyond the preschool years.
Aside from second language and literacy acquisition, Ubiles and Kenner envisioned a school that encompassed and valued cultural competency in combination with rigorous academic standards, that would prepare students to become globally competitive and empathetic. Thus, in 2009, The GLOBE (Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education) Academy was born!
