Instruction at The GLOBE Academy is based on children’s natural inclination for inquiry and discovery. Constructivism is grounded in the theories of cognitive and developmental psychologist Jean Piaget. Children learn best when playing an active role in their learning and through engaging in inquiry with peers, adults, and their environment in purposeful ways. To this end, children at The GLOBE Academy will engage in project-based and real world learning opportunities in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies. The GLOBE Academy will implement units of study that are aligned to the mission and vision of The GLOBE Academy.
*Please note: The GLOBE Academy has decided not to pursue IB World School status at this time. The Governing Board has agreed that the costs associated with the accreditation process could be better allocated toward teacher and administrator professional development and travel abroad opportunities for GLOBE students, faculty, and staff.
