How to Apply

Registration for the 2017-18 Lottery is now closed.
You can still apply, however your child will go to the end of the waiting list. Completed applications can be dropped off at the Lower Campus (2225 Heritage Drive, Atlanta 30345) weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. only. See below for application and required documents.
 
Admission for the 2017-18 School Year
 
Due to the rigorous nature of our language immersion program, The GLOBE Academy will only accept applications for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Sixth Grade for the 2017-18 school year.

Admission to The GLOBE Academy is through a random lottery. All students who reside in the DeKalb County School District are eligible to apply. (Residents of the City of Atlanta or City of Decatur are not eligible.) Applicants for Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2017. Applicants for First Grade must be 6 years old on or before September 1, 2017 regardless of completing Kindergarten at a private school.

Open Enrollment for the Lottery is Monday, February 6, 2017 to Friday, February 17, 2017. Applications must be submitted in person at The GLOBE Academy’s Lower Campus (2225 Heritage Drive, Atlanta 30345) weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Only complete applications will be accepted. Incomplete applications will be returned to the parent. Applications are not accepted by mail or email.

Applications received after 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 will be placed at the end of the waiting list in the order they are received.

To enroll in the lottery, you must submit:
o  Completed Lottery Application form 
o  Original or state-certified copy of child’s birth certificate (We will photocopy it and return it to you.)
o  Child's Social Security Card (We will photocopy it and return it to you.)
o  Photocopy of parent’s driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID.
o  Proof of residency (see below)

Proof of Residency can include any one of the following:
o  Signed copy of lease or rental agreement
o  Signed Copy of Deed
o  Current mortgage statement (No more than 30 days old)
o  Current utility bill (Gas, water, or electric only. No more than 30 days old. We cannot accept phone or cable bills.)
 
If the parent(s) is not the property owner/lessee, but parent(s) and student reside with a relative or other person who is a property owner/lessee within the DeKalb County School District, an Affidavit of Residency must be completed as required, notarized and submitted with the application and all other supporting documentation. The parent AND the owner/lessee of the residence must BOTH be present to submit the lottery application during Open Enrollment.
 
If you prefer not to submit your child's Social Security card or if your child does not have one, you can submit a SSN waiver. Please note that your child will not be eligible for the Hope Scholarship if you do not provide a Social Security number to DeKalb County Schools by 12th grade. 
 
Twins and same-grade siblings must submit separate applications. They each get a lottery number and if either number is selected, both students will be offered admission.
 
The admissions lottery will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public. You do not need to be present at the lottery to secure your child’s acceptance. Selected students will be notified by email by Thursday, March 2, 2017. Lottery results will be posted on The GLOBE Academy website and at the main entrance at Lower Campus. 
 
Admission for the 2016-17 School Year
 
Though we are at full enrollment, we continue to accept applications for Kindergarten, 1st, 5th, and 6th Grade for the 2016-17 school year. New applicants go to the end of the grade-level waiting list. We actively fill open spots throughout the year, so we encourage you to apply.
