On Saturday, August 27th, parents, students, and teachers gave the grounds of Lower Campus a face lift for “Grow Your Roots” Day. Volunteers beautified the campus by pulling weeds in the butterfly garden, painting outdoor structures, and spreading mulch under the newly-purchased climbing dome.
Several volunteers also worked on a special project to create a new maze out of painted pavers at the entrance of the Lower Campus. Even if some families could not participate in the “Grow Your Roots” Day, many still contributed by donating pavers, money to buy pavers, and/or decorating pavers for the maze.
Special thanks to Lucrecia Vizcaino Cabarrus and Michelle Rios for coordinating volunteers and projects for the “Grow Your Roots” Day and to Pam Lyons for being at the school and ensuring volunteers had the materials and access they needed. And thank you to all of the families who helped GLOBE shine as the beauty we all know it to be!
